I have to small cactus's, not sure of their names..barrel shaped. When I bought them two years ago they were in small pots and I had to replant them this summer they grew so..and their root ball!!! Now they are both tipping over, sigh... what did I do wrong?

The went into shock during the transplant. You should use a good fertilizer for cactus after transplant to try to prevent it.

I know you need to buy a special soil mix for cacti and other similar plants. It has more sand, and drains better. Overwatering/poor drainage in soil is a problem for cacti!
Miricle Gro has a cactus potting mix that has worked well for me. Good Luck!

you have to use a potting mix with lots of sand. Schultz makes one that is decent. Then don't over water.
