when i put an item up for sale should i put the retail price in the dec....because i put a lamp online for 30.00 the retail price is 70.00...would that help it sale.....help....

There is a place for description of the item. Put the normal retail price there. People will read it and see that the lamp is really a bargain.

Yes, it would definitely help. When selling something you need to get the buyer interested and posting the original price is one of them. Also when it has a brand name that too, it also will trigger people to buy it.
Maybe even the store where it was purchased, because it maybe someone favorite store and have been looking for it for a long time.

Hi. I own a shop on ebay and if im selling goods that have a high retial price, then i always put the price i paid, so the buyers can see how much of a bargin they are getting!!

i think putting the retail price will make people realize how cheap you are selling it for. it should attract more buyers.
