Do you know an International Medical Graduate(IMG)who got matched in a residency program in General Surgery?

In the United States? and in which state was that? was it a university or a community hospital? from which Country and when was that? did you have this experience?

Does Canada ask for citizenship from the IMG's to work as residents in their hospitals?

I don't know about the states...but it's not uncommon in Canada. I work in three different hospitals in Toronto and there are general surgical residents in all three. Altogether there are seven teaching hospitals in Toronto...and it would be reasonable to assume that all seven have foreign graduates in the general surgery programs.
