Assuming you mean the basic rights of humans in these United States: There should be a declaration that all politicians must seek the truth and relay that truth to their constituents.

For example, why don't the American people know that world economics are based on oil and was negotiated (30 years ago) by our government. The terms of the deal; that foreign oil producers and other nations were told we would buy their oil if they used and accepted United States currency and gave part of it back (paid to the world bank) to pay off our national debt (not deficit). Why don't the American people know that the Alaskan North Shore has the worlds largest oil fields and it's a direct action of our government that will not allow us to pump what we need (never mind saving the four eyed double spotted walrus).

With Nations like Iran wanting to change the rules about using US currency and Russia wanting to have their own world bank, it's no wonder things like basic human rights are limited although they seem to be alright with most of the masses.

I say again: "There should be a declaration that all politicians must seek the truth and relay that truth to their constituents".

Along with term limits we could control basic human rights within our borders.

Why does it need to be re-written? I guess now days many would say health care, a job, a house, a car, etc. But, all these things need to be provided by someone. Anything that is provided by another human being cannot be a basic right and must be paid for.
