My LMP was 11/25/06. It was a very short period. I usually have long periods that last 5-7 days and are heavy. My last period (on 11/25) was short, it only lasted 3 days. It was lighter than usual also. I know the best way to find out exactly how far along I am is go to my OB and have a ultrasound done, I have an appt with her 2/1. I am just wondering if anyone else experienced a unusual period and ended up being further along? I am having symptoms that would suggest I am further along like swollen feet and my lower abdomen is harder than usual, I'm just curious if this has happened to anyone else?

My feet being swollen isn't a concern of mu OB's. I informed her of this already. I am a nurse and I am on my feet 12 hours a day. She told me to take it easy and put my feet up when I am at home or when I get a chance at work. But thanks for your concern.

It happened to me, i just found out i'm 4 months along when i thought i was two. My last period was nov. 2nd and was normal (a little shorter than usual, but fairly normal). So that would make me 10 wks yesterday, but yesterday i found out i'm 16 wks. I had also taken pregnancy tests that came out negative in oct and sept, but hey.....it's just 8 less wks i have to worry about now!!!!

Mine was opposite! According to my LMP I should have been nearly 9 weeks along when I went in. So they did the early ultrasound (routine for my doctor) and they all paniced! So, they brought in another Tech and then an actual OB from the hospital. Everyone thought my pregnancy was not viable, something was wrong. Well, they did a HGC blood test, which showed my levels being at the range of 4-5 weeks along (which I culdn't be right?) and then they checked again 48 hours later....and HGC went up, so the pregnancy was progessing. Turns out my LMP meant nothing in my case! I was only 4-5 weeks along, not 8-9 weeks. We have a healthy 22 week old baby girl growing right now! Doctor's only do their best, they never know exactly what happens in a women's body, so anything could be possible!

:) the opposite happened to me. I thought I could be further along because I have a period in a month and then a period in 2 months and they rotate each month. When I found out I was preggo I did not remember having a period for the month of October so I thought I was farther. I thought my last menstrual would have been around Oct 5. When the ultrasound was done instead of 13 weeks and 2 days I was 10 weeks exactly. I am 10 weeks and 5 days. It's very easy to do. You might have your doctor check you and your blood pressure. It could be possible you are further along. I was not as far along as I thought and it could be the same or different for you.

I am pregnant with my second. I was feeling funny but only had a 1 day spotting when my period should have come. I took a test and it came back positive, I thought i was around 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. When I went to the doctor and had an ultrasound I was actually 6 1/2 weeks !!! good luck

My lmp was Sept. 11th, and I just spotted for 2 days... I asked my doc about it and he told me that a period is a period, and when I had an ultrasound done at 9 weeks, the dates matched.... It was the same way with my last pregnancy too.
