Like Led zeppelin, Metallica, Iron maiden, G n' R OR some1 else?

Well Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath were like the first 'heavy rock' bands. The Comets created the whole 'rock and roll' thing so they'd be in the running
On the musicial side of things, Ac/Dc made some of the best rock and roll thats just wants to make u go out and punch people in the face. The Rolling Stones were good too but i'd say the best rock and roll band would be Led Zeppelin cos they were geniuses in there own right and influenced many of the bands we know as giants

I think the best rock band ever were either Rainbow or Queen. A lot of great bands like Motorhead, Iron Maiden or Nightwish are heavy metal bands and not rock.
