In order to be the best you have to beat the best....Florida beat TWO top 5 teams, and Bosie St didnt even beat any teams in the top 10.....who cares if they are undefeated, and if you want to go by losses, do you think LSU shouldnt be top 5 with their two losses and that a D1AA team with 1 loss should be ahead of them??

Just to start off, I would like to say that Boise's game was an awesome game to watch, and I'm still amazed at how well they executed all their plays in the most critical points of the game. Boise state has been said to not have played good enough quality teams to even have a chance at playing Ohio State in the BCS. But I believe that any team( whether it's soccer, tennis, baseball, etc.) that can go undefeated in their league should be looked at more seriously. Boise State should at least have their scheduled changed so that they could at least have a chance of becoming #1 next year. Boise State should not have been #1 this year but in the upcoming years I have strong beliefs that Boise will move up through the "ranks" and be playing against an Ohio-Florida level game in the BCS.

They should have had a shot at it. Why is football so different than the other sports, Should Goerge Mason been in the final 4 last year, what about the underdog????The way Ohio State played Boise would have blown then out, heck Georgetown,Ky(NIAI) could have beaten OS..Florida did not show me much, OS gave it to them. LSU gave their win to Florida & South Carolina should have beaten Florida, Florida had quit a few gimmes this year they are good but not Nationals champ good..Give me the playoffs like other sports, owe big D1 school want the bowl money not and actual Champ that sportswriter and a computer picks. Let the top 8-10 teams in the country fight it out on the field not in a computer.....

Even the Boise state head coach said that the ranking they got at the end of the season was very deserving and he admitted that they didn't play in as hard a conference as osu or Florida

Yeah they r undefeated. Can you say that about Florida or Ohio State?? but its all based on strength of schedule and if you look up Boise States schedule you will see that they didnt play a whole lot of tough teams. which is unfair but i guess its not to those teams who had a very tough schedule and had to fight hard to get in the top 10. They could be ranked a little higher though. that game was awsome. my favorite bowl game!!

They beat OU. Okay, but OU isnt at their best right now. Boise State is a good team, but they didnt make it to the National Championship (and win) which is whats required to be #1.

No, BSU didn't have the schedule to warrent a #1, however I think they should have been in the top 3. They did blow out Oregon State, which beat USC. A playoff system would solve all these problems and debates!

Not with the schedule they had. They did noy play 1 team in the top 40. Had any of the top 20 teams had their schedule, 19 of the go undefeated.
I think they are very fortunate to be ranked where they are.
