The people who are now running this country, local councils and Civil Service, Police, education and other public bodies are all products of the Universty system of the late 60's and early 70's. They all signed up to the Socialist Workers Party, Marxism Today and all the other left wing and revolutionary ideals and parties that were around at the time. They still believe in these ideals...for other people. For themselves, now they have their snouts in the trough, they see that these ideals - while great in theory - are totally impractical. In the UK at least, MOST people (with a few exceptions) are content to "live and let live", let byegones be byegones But those in charge cant let it be. They MUST legislate, interfere in private life, try and FORCE those ideals they used to believe in on others...whether we like it or not. In their little world, The Empire was 100% evil, white people are oppressors, Black and Asian people are poor downtrodden victims (how patronising is that?), The State can spend your money better than you can, The State knows best and you know nothing. In their world, you are there to serve The State, not the other way round. You are guilty of SOMETHING unless you can prove otherwise...and with so many new laws passed in the last decade (3000+ I believe) you are bound to put a foot wrong somewhere at sometime. They believe that The People are naughty children who need to be told "No, you cant do that". I thought the Tories were a bunch of control freaks but this lot take the biscuit. But what will we do about it? I feel so angry about this bunch that I want to take to the streets and let them know. If enough of us did, how could they stop us? I've had enough, who's up for it? email me at southcoast2002@hotmail.com All colours, creeds, religions, races welcome...

its us as a nations fault or the general population that dont take notice and dont do anything about it . when you do a little digging you soon realise that we almost live in a matrix type situation where our governments at the very top are controlled by the global elite and to become primeinister you have to tow the line and be a member of one of there secret societys in the first place if blair didnt someone else would.
political corectness is nothing more than a type of divide and conquer exersize those that get sucked in or realise and cowar to the pc brigade become part of the problem because this is the only way they can get away with it along with everything else .
all i can say is do what you feel is right and for those that cant comprehend common sence , i say tuff .

I think these politically correct laws are not made to placate minorities at all - they are made to make the majority HATE minorities. Think about it - most people of religions other than Christianity have absolutely no problem with Christmas, many of them even celebrate it in some form themselves. But there are politically correct nutjobs out there saying "Oh but we must call it the holiday season, or Muslims will get offended!" Well if there are one or two people out there who find the word Christmas offensive then LET THEM BE OFFENDED. This makes many people say "Well why should we have to change for Muslims, they're just trying to change our society" - when in fact many Muslims are just as annoyed as everyone else! It is deliberately inciting hatred and stirring up trouble. As to why people are doing it is anyone's guess...

Yes i am with you on this one. Everything is changing There is this big fuss about every bloody small thing. You can't say this or do that...... we are the ones in this Country that are loosing out just so we don't offend anyone else. It Is Bullsh*t in my opinion. I have time for everyone that is kind to me no matter what colour or religion sexuality you are, but things do go too far. That is my opinion and i do not care if anyone disagrees with me! We are so worried about every other country that people living in this country are being forgotten about. The rich are still getting richer and we cant speak our mind anymore.

The biggest problem is seperation of church and state.
Government officials aren't supposed to mandate legislation based on their religious beliefs. However that is exactly what is affecting legislation.
I am not exactly sure how you get people with tunnel vision and a "stay the course" attitude to see the picture beyond their scope.... that I'm afraid is the largest problem.
Rereading your statement I am confused as to what exactly you are referring to in regard to Muslims.
What laws are being made in their name?
I just realized you are English...yeah!
Sorry, I was answering from an American point of view. Silly me!

Why would wearing a poppy annoy anyone??
It is a slippery slope but i dont see why all muslims are being blamed for things, the government wants to make changes and is pin pointing their decisions on different sectors of the community in order to justify their otherwise absurd decisions.

Sikhs oftentimes eliminate their turbans for sport, and so on. Whoever talked about a Sikh swimming in a turban? The religious requirement is only to have unshorn hair. The turban is only to neaten their visual attraction and cause them to seem smart. Years in the past they made a fuss about having to placed on crash helmets even as driving motor cycles and scooters and the authorities gave way. This guy, even as he joined the police rigidity, could were conscious that express issues will be required of him, jointly with coping with riots in which his turban would nicely be knocked off his head. If he couldn't stand the nice and comfortable temperature, then he must have kept out of the kitchen -- noticeably if he's of this style of mushy nature that he's concern to such issues as palpitations and panic attacks.

I'm from the UK and just before Christmas on the local radio it was mentioned that some companies were not having christmas decorations in the offices as it might offend other cultures that were working there - I am sure that if I went to live in one of these foreign countries wouldn't I have to abide by their rules???

First Amendment - Religion and Expression
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
We have freedom of Religion, not Freedom from religion.
I'm curious where it says in the constitution that we have a right to not be offended?

If it is wrong to sing Baa Baa Black Sheep then where do we stand with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, that would seem to be colour prejudiced and also unfair to physically handicapped people, I do believe it emanated from America. Should it be Miss neutral colour and the Seven physically challenged small people.( Tongue in cheek of course).PS there are lots of black sheep around where I live so why can't we sing about them, I don't think you can tell the difference when you eat them.
