Here's a sheet of alt key symbols.
Character Map (available from Accessories|System Tools) will also allow you to access any for the fonts and the entire Unicode right from the screen. Between the two of this options you should be able to type any thing you want.
Of course this will only work in an window that supports that type of symbol.

MS Word has many of the symbols, but not on the keyboard.

You have to look on the text program on your computer which adds different characters; it will tell you which keyboard letter corresponds to which symbol.

It's really pretty simple: Click on Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools and select Character Map. There you will find hundreds of characters you can select and use. Find the one you want, click Select, then Copy then go to where you want it and click on Edit and Paste. There it is! ♥♥
