come on do you really need a top?

If you sew, you can first go to a fabric store that sells all sorts of notions, snaps, etc. They may have a new hooky thing. You will need to pick apart the seam where the cloth surrounds the old plastic hook and remove hook. Place the cloth around the new hook as it was initially done and sew it back again - rather securely.
If you can't do this, and really want to keep the top, you could get some really nice gros grain ribbon (fabric store) attached to both ends of the top at the back and tie vs. hook it. Not practical if you are well endowed.
Buy a new top in a contrasting colour? Some specialty swimwear shops will sell you tops and bots separately.
Buy yourself another bikini set - one is never enough.

You can sew it depending on if it's the right size. If the back slides down a little when you breathe out then you can sew it and then just slip it on over your head, but if it doesn't move then just go buy another plastic hook.
