Your 1st config is better.

config 1.
Intel core 2 duo 6300 processor,945 m/b, 1 gb ram, sata 160 hdd, sony dvd writer, 17'lcd monitor, 7300xfx graphics card..

But you need to make changes

1st change , you need 2 GB of RAM
2nd change, you need a better video card , Try the ATI X1900 XT 512MB RAM, or the Nvidia 7900 series in 512MB trim.

For the monitor any TN panel is great for games, they have the fastest response times. The cheapest LCD monitors available are all TN panels so pick one with the fastest response time

In my opinion you would be better off getting a 7600GS XXX series card and a Pentium D 9xx series because it is not that much more and you will be happier with it I think or go with the Core 2 Due you picked out.

If you are gaming, go with 2 GB of RAM.

Both have small hard drives and CPU could be faster. I like an NEC monitor. They have excellent resolution and color.

Use coherent language when asking a question. I didn't understand a thing you said, and each two lines, there is only one word... Type slower so others can actually understand you.
