When I've read the bold letters of yr question (and without reading the rest) I've immediately started to remember my trip to Finland. It was about 20 years ago but suddenly I've seen the trees (birches and larches) snow loaded and the frozen lakes with the sauna cabins scattered in the woods.
I had never seen before so much snow and so many trees....!!!
I'm sending you a link with a few pics of what I mean. You can click on the pic to enlarge it. It's an Italian site but there is no language for pictures...!!

Pancakes and the Finnish flag.
I am from Thunder Bay, ON. It has the largest community of Finlanders outside of Finland.
I am very familiar with Finn culture, food, and language.
Finn pancakes are the best in the world!

I'm half Finn on my mother's side so obviously I think of my mom. Finland is famous for their saunas and reindeer herders. Also, Laplanders. Their traditional costumes are quite colorful. Marimekko is a famous Finn artist. He does beautiful fabric designs. Finnish jewelery is very distinctive looking. Maybe one of these things will help?

I think of the great Finnish composer Sibelius
and his famous piece "Finlandia",
which is now the national anthem of Finland.

Hmm... collaboration with Nazi Germany in World War II? Never mind, that's not politically correct, that'll never fly in a school project.
