It really depends, my mom was always cool with me dating whatever girls I wanted, she raised me and my brothers not to judge based on color. But my grandma is a different story, she always looked like she was about to cry whenever I brought home a girl that wasnt black or didnt look part black.

Some do. I lived in south Central L.A for many yrs. And I know some black mommas told there sons if you ever date a white girl don't you bring her here. I heard that a lot in the hood. Now on the other hand I heard some mommas tell there kids hey if she (meaning a white girl,) can do better for my son then the sister, then let it be. If his momma doing all that, she might not want him with a white girl. But her son likes white girls. Maybe she don't want her son to date period. Look if he likes you and you like him so what. Maybe its not your color at all. Maybe she likes the other girl. Soon you will find out. Don't let that scare you. She (his mother) might think your scared or weak or make you feel that why. And maybe that's what she wants. She might look at you as a little weak white girl who knows nothing. Be your self.

It depends on the mother and her outlook on life is. His mother might be a racist. Then again she might be worried about her son, I'm sure when she was growing up bad things happened to black men for dating white women. Also she might be wondering why her son is interested in dating white women. We do live in a society that portrays white women as being the most beautiful, no mother wants ahy of her children to think that way. My best response would be to ask him to discuss the issue with his mother.

I am black mother of a son and no I would not be upset if he dated out of his race. That's a broad question saying "do black mothers etc. etc. etc." because we are all different. I teach my kids to love everybody no matter what. I would never ask my son to not date out of his race for my own personal reasons. As long as he is being loved the right way by the right woman, then that is alright with me!!!

some black moms disappove
some do not.
here is some perspective. not so long ago, black men were hanged / lynched for dating white women. so it was very dangerous for your son to date a white woman. he was risking his life. therefore parents did not want their sons to do it.
black men don't get killed for dating white women anymore but
those ideas don't go away so fast. it was such a risk. also just like any different culture (if you were indian, thai, pakistani, mexican, etc.) it's hard to handle a relative with a very different culture because expectations are so different. so you have a chance to let her get to know you and decide youare the right partner for her son, despite her initial resistance. be sweet and respectful to her and she will eventually come around.

Looks to me as if it would be the same problem,
What does a white father think about his daughter dating a black man?
Both sides can be okay with it, or against it. It depends on the person.
But it's a pretty good question

Take it from a mother, it doesn't matter if the girl is white or black there will never be any girl good enough for her son.

Yes, My husband's mother did not want me involved with him because of my color. Its our parents who teach us to keep racism in our blood. For this is the same reason why America will fall and become Mexico and China.
