Yup. Of course I've seen all the commercials and things that the mainstream people beleive it is. Steel drums, rastas and pure paradise.

I've also studied sociology, of tourism and of war. I think there's a number of people that are educated beyond the commercials and can understand the problems that sorround tourists with such different social classes, the financial conditions, the economy and all others.

I have to admit. That's in the back of my mind but when you say jamaica, I hear steel drums and think jerk chicken and beaches. I have to think longer to remember the atrocities.

The song with information from Harry Belafonte. that's amazingly little yet a minimum of that's an recommendations-blowing song. and that i propose the words to the song is what I heard about Jamaica. that you've tremendous rum, salt fish is high-quality :) and the overall environment, even though it is probable old in loads of factors of Jamaica. And that the capital is Kingstontown. What have you ever heard about Romania?

along with Jamaica, most Caribbean nations have beautiful shorelines and poorer inner cities. My grandfather (R.I.P.) used to live in St. Catherine, and i remember we went to go see his house in Kingston, and it was rough. for some reason, these beautiful countries aren't getting support for people living in the largest cities. my mother's from the Dominican Republic and we see family there every 3 years, in Santo Domingo and San Pedro de Macoris, it's the same story. if they concentrated the money they receive from tourists into the capitals and other cities, i believe atrocities wouldn't occur.

the same is happening in the States, it's like the richer are becomin richer and the poorer continue to suffer.

Jamaican hotels and resorts are beautiful and safe. However, Jamaica is a poor country and there is a fair amount of crime. Tourists should be very cautious if they decide explore the island on their own. I do not recommend it.

my brother and his wife went to jamaica and saw animals crossing the streets, slums and poverty. The cost of living is ho high there. If it is so rich and so good, why are there so many jamaicans here in the u.s?

everyone in the united states has heard of jamaica.

to most all of us, it means funny accents, rastafarians, marijuana, and sandy sunny beaches.
