I think this question could be over generalizing a bit, but most blacks in this country are of mixed raced heritage. It could be native American, white, German (military families), or anything else. The backgrounds are as varied as the skin-color.

That is why it is so misleading to call them "African American." No one says "European American, or Swedish American based on where their ancestors came from...

I dont know but I would assume more white then Native American bec most of the slaves had realtions with their white slave owners which made offspring.
