She says that when you donate an agg and the woman you donate to has a baby the baby doesn't have your genes, it has the genes of the woman you donated the egg to. Also, she said that a woman donating an egg is like a man donating sperm, all she has to do is have an orgasm.

I don't agree with any of that. Could you please tell me what is true?

You seem to be smarter than your aunt. Please don't let her donate any of her eggs.

I'm not an OBGYN, but I know with certainty that if you donate an egg, the baby will have your genes. 50% you, 50% from the male who fertilized the egg. Therefore the woman carrying the baby will not be contributing any genetic material to the child. Donating an egg is not as easy as donating sperm and it does not require an orgasm. I've actually heard it kinda hurts when they obtain the eggs...but then again, I've never done it. You are right, your aunt is wrong.

OK- an egg has the DNA of the woman it came from. It will combine with the chromosomes of the sperm it is fertilized with. Therefore, the woman in which it is implanted has no genetic link to the egg. In some cases of IVF, if your own egg was harvested, fertilized in the lab and then implanted into you, it will have your DNA, as it is your egg. If your egg is implanted into a surrogate the egg will have your DNA, as the egg is from you.

Eggs have to be "harvested". This is an in office procedure which is a lot more involved than a cup and a magazine. The egg donor will have to undergo fertality treatments to increase the changes of healthy eggs, which are removed by an ultrasound guided needle (think amnio).

A good information site is listed below. Good luck.

Get your aunt a basic book on the reproductive system.
Eggs must be harvested from inside your body.
Come on, every time you have an orgasm you don't discard an egg! Eggs need a month to ripen and every month only one [ or two ] are released at a time.
If a person uses anothers egg and sperm, the baby will have the genetics of the donating parents.
I am serious about getting her a book or video.
You win so she has to take you and all your eggs on a shopping spree!

the baby will have the genes of the person who donated the egg

aproximatly the 14th day of a womans menstral cycle is the time when an egg is released. not everytime a woman has an orgasm.

wow sex education has come a long way over the years. lol!

females are born with each and each and every of the eggs that we are able to ever have. in case you purely have 2,000 eggs left and also you donate all 2,000 eggs, then you'll not in any respect have anymore and also you may not in any respect have a organic baby. it really is it. lol common math. One common egg donation, they purely take some eggs although. not thousands. So till you're close to menopause, you should have countless eggs left after making a donation. As for adult males, they consistently reproduce new sperm. they could donate sperm numerous circumstances an afternoon in the journey that they somewhat had to. They not in any respect somewhat run out. as long as they have are frequently solid wellbeing, they could regenerate thousands of thousands of recent sperm a month.

When a donor is selected by a recipient (the infertile woman) both women are placed on fertility drugs in order to synchronize their menstrual cycles.

When the eggs have matured, they are gathered from the donor and artificially inseminated before being implanted into the recipient's womb (uterus).

The only genetic material will be that of the egg donor (female) and the sperm donor (male); the recipient will contribute no genetic material.

Your aunt is horrifically misinformed on the entire matter of artificial pregnancy techniques.

no she's wrong. cause it takes weeks to get the right treatments in order to donate the egg. it's different from donating the sperm. and yes they have the genes from who donated, that's why they search for someone that has similar appearances as the mother or dad.

no to both....when you donate an egg, it is your egg that the baby grows from so it has your genes--it just grows in the other woman's body but it does not have any of her genes. Eggs are not released when you have an orgasm, a doctor has to perform a surgical procedure where they go in and remove them from your body.

I don't know anything about genes, but in order for a woman to donate an egg she has surgery and they remove the egg.

Wow, your Aunt needs to do some reading. The egg will have the Doners DNA not the woman's DNA who receives the egg. And orgasms don't even come into play with women.
A doctor has to us a needle to harvest the eggs from the woman's ovaries.
