Yes, being overweight can stop ovulation. There are meds to induce ovulation. Also, weight may be a symptom of another disorder--PCOS comes to mind.

Absolutely!!! Sorry:( Being overweight means you are not in the best condition for concieving. If your body knows that you are not healthy it will prevent you from having a child because of the risks. As well if your not in shape your blood pressure will be higher as well as your blood count may be off and possibly even your ovulation so maybe put yourself on a high protein diet for about a month and try to work out 3 times a week for about a half hour and your body will start being back in it's normal state.

Well-- I have heard that weight gain is sometimes associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome in women of childbearing years--so if your weight gain is related to that then it might be making it more difficult to conceive..check with your doctor--other than that--I always thought that being a bit more plump was a healthy sign of fertility--of course--if it is too much weight and if gaining it is causing you stress/unhappiness--then it is affecting your total well-being--mental as well as physical health--and this could be affecting your chances of conceiving..
Good Luck:)

Your weight can definitely affect fertility. Under weight and overweight can cause hormonal in balances that will affect ovulation. You need to speak to a doctor to see how they can help you out.

Of course weight is your issue!!! Being 10lbs over weight is a super serious issue. At this time, forget about having another kid. For your sake and your little girl's sake, LOSE THE CURRENT WEIGHT!!!!!!!!!! Not only does it effect your chances of getting pregnant, it puts a tremendous strain on your entire body. Be around for the little girl you have now!
