Hi, I'm currently 8 months pregnant and I try to walk 3-4 times a week on the treadmill for about 20-30 minutes each time. I started walking years ago to try and help w/ some digestive issues I was having, and I used to walk and run everyday at a fast pace (fastest on my treadmill running was about 5-6 miles per hour). I've cut it down to light walking at only 2 miles per hour and like I said I now only walk 2 or 3 times a day. Is this ok? Or can I up my speed a little and should I start walking everyday? Anyone know if that would be safe? I recently had another docs appointment but forgot to ask my doctor about that. As far as I was told, my weight is normal for my 8 months and my blood sugar and other tests came out normal as well. Baby has a very good healthy heartbeat too. Thankfully. This being my first child I don't want to do anything harmful. Thanks

Good for you! Unless you start to feel fatigued or contractions, walk on! Walking is the safest exercise at this point in pregnancy and may help you in labor and delivery later. Keep up the good work!

Exercising is super beneficial during pregnancy. That being said, you need to watch your heart beat (don't want it over 140 beasts per minute) and you need to watch you core body temperature. Your baby can't sweat like we do when we are hot.
Walking is one of the safest exercises out there. Just watch your balance since it changes daily with your belly growing.

Walk on. A few miles a day can't hurt. Don't get over heated or dehydrated. You might want to slow down the running if you feel any pain.

As long as you don't bounce a lot (which will put stress on your adominals, especially during later pregnancy) then you should be able to walk as much and as fast as you want (or feel good doing).

Usually you can continue with exercise as long as its no more than what you did before. If you start swelling or getting out of breathe of course stop. Call your doctor to be sure though

walking is great during your pregnancy, as long as it stays at walking and doesn't turn into anything high impact then I think your okay!
