Americans don't have any real values or morale. They are a plastic hedonistic people. Hollywood perfectly embodies the superficial mentality of the typical American idiot, that being said Americans find it necessary to glorify them and put them on a pedestal above themselves. Real laborers are often undermined and left unappreciated because that's the type of pseudo-culture we live in. We expect that everything will be there and done for us, and we honestly don't care how it got there, and what sacrifices were made for it, so long as we didn't have to get it for ourselves. That's why the world around us resents us. No one else sits in a little plastic bubble criticizing the world around it, when it can't even fathom or begin to grasp what the world around it has to do to achieve the things the greedy, hedonistic American pseudo-culture takes for granted, b/c they don't have to sacrifice anything for it. They're justified in hating us b/c we haven't earned anything in the last fifty years, as a society we spit on the little man, even when we are the little man. Hollywood is America without denial, and that is why Americans are obsessed with celebrities and celebrity status.

Naty, Your inquiry grow to be very genuine. i imagine I consider you for the most section, and that i will allow you to recognize why. turn on the television and watch CNN or ABC. For the most section, you'll study what celebrities did. no human being fairly cares, you've were given to admit, and they teach it besides. i have been which skill to inform someone about this one answer that I talked about once even as answering a question. It grow to be a woman, i imagine, who reported what she did. She grow to be saying, each thing occurs for a reason and many times to distract us from the genuine tragedies and consequences that we are dealing with, like the Iraqi conflict and the way it hasn't neared to an end. Britney Spears shaving her head, the Trump and O'Donnel controversy, and all it truly is only to distract us. i wish that someone can grab this difficulty, in a roundabout way now unexplainable, and turn it right into a more suitable constructive threat for us all. For now, i am going to do my section and attempt no longer to care about a variety of of those ineffective, interest-looking for celebrities. nicely, no longer all of them, yet a good lots of them certainly!

The entire world is obsessed with celebrities. I consider the world to be one big high school. You have you Popular Click (Celebrities, Athletes, Entertainers), You have the class clowns (Comedians), You have the bullies(Criminals), YOu have the Overachievers ( the Oprahs and and Bill Gates, the Warren Buffets), You have the Cheerleaders( La Lakers, Dallas), You have the nerds (Scientist, Teachers, Doctors, etc.) You have the hall monitors (Police). Life is just one big high school. . . . And just like everyone knew who the popular kids were in h.s. everyone knows who celebrities are. . . .

For some reason, some Americans believe that these celebrities are better than the rest of us. Therefore they want to know every detail about their lives, so they can perhaps try to live a similar lifestyle. It's okay to admire a certain celebrities work, but I don't think it is healthy to examine every aspect of their life. They are people too!

America is not the only country obsessed with celebrities.
I guess people feel it's a distraction but I find most of the celebs quite dull..

I don't know. I find them uninteresting and annoying; particularly those entitled, job-less, rich kids who think that they've achieved something, but are pretty worthless.
