Absolutely!
Study really well.
Don't listen to what recent graduates tell you about how easy it was for them. IT wasn't they just don't remember, they don't mean to mislead you.
Pay close attention when the instructor says to highlight something. That is often the very answer to a later question. Study as often as you can.
Once you get passed the beginning classes take a few days (not weeks) break to refresh. Then hit it hard with all you've got. Work at this as hard as you would if you knew you'd get a million dollars at the end.
because what we are talking about here is your best chance for getting a million dollars so go for it and don't let anything get in your way.

You will be successful in class if you pay attention, take notes, study EVERY night, raise your hand and ask questions, and sit in the front of class.
The exams are difficult and the way that they word them is tricky. Buy one of those books "guide to passing the real estate exam".
Best of luck in class and while you are out there. The class is the easy part. Remember it is ALL about networking. The more friends that you have the better off you will be. If you are not good at networking, join toastmasters.
Regards,
HH

I think you are entering a very interesting line of work. My only advice is to not worry about the current real estate market in Michigan. I believe that once all the restructuring with the Big Three shakes out this year, that the real estate market will return in time for you to reap the rewards.
btw, are you taking your classes at OCC?

Be aggressive and make as many contacts as possible. Learning and passing the course is extremely important, but does not guarantee success. Go the extra mile in connecting with people
