We bought our Cirrus new and the brakes squeak all the time. We have ahd the car serviced right on time and ti is well maintained. When we get new brakes the dealer says "This will fix it" but 24 hours later the squeaking starts agin. when it's rainy or snowy, it is continual and unbearable! We love the car but what's with the brakes?! We are in BC, Canada.

We only use the dealership for maintenance - so far. And we've tried the obvious of being "soft" at first. Before we try the expensive ceramic brakes, I thought maybe I could get some consensus from other owners to see if it's just our cirrus or all of them. Maybe time to go to an independent brake shop and let the Chrysler dealer go. they are convenient because they are only 3 blocks from office so work gets done (or NOT) during day and we are not without use of car. Soooo frustrating!

Brakes should never squeak. Squeaking is a result of improper friction between the brake pads and rotors. Chrysler dealers do use a "V-line" brake pad for budget brake jobs. The pads usually run about $54.00. These pads are usually decent in regular weather but may have issues in colder or hotter climates. The cut on the rotors may cause the issue also. I would recommend to alays use factory rotors and the "oem" set of pads. These are the pads the vehicle came with when new. As for right now, I would keep taking it back till they fix it. It is not a o.k. or normal thing.

I agree with Tsull73. You definitely have a problem. The brakes should not squeak all the time. Try gently pushing on the brake for a few seconds while driving, this will dry off your brake pads. If this doesn't work you have another problem. Sometimes small rocks get caught in between your brake pad and rotor, this will also cause squeaking. If this problem persist get the opinion of another mechanic.

Try some aftermarket pads. Dealer pads can sometimes be hard and cause a squeak. Aftermarket pads are softer and squeak less . Draw back they wear out faster. Are they machining the rotors when doing the brakes. Dodge also uses shims to help stop squeaks are they using them.Apply anti squeal to the back of the pads( yes there is such a thing )it like silicone. Good luck hope I helped

Brakes sometimes will squeak when wet or moist, due to the brake dust coming of the new pads on the car. As time goes on this will go away with use.
