I have a horse on Cosequin and he refuses to eat it if its simply scooped onto his grain. But we put like a quarter amount of corn oil just to make it stick so he cant avoid it. That small of an amount wont make him gain weight and its simply the easiest way and cheapest I might add.

Try molassas! If you feed grain mix a small amount of molassas in with your grain then add your Cosequin and add some hot water, so it's a little soupy. Mix really well. The heat from the water should bring out the sweet smell in the grain and molassas. My mare loves her warm mush!

You mentioned you don't want your horse to gain more weight and so that takes care of sugars, molasses, and honeys. How about putting the supplements between two apple slices.

Oh, good question..
And I have just the answer... Honey or Molasses.. They can't resist either. Just a little not a lot, mix it up and either feed it to him through a large syringe or put the mixture on top of his hay flake.. This worked for our horse, and he is stubborn.
Good luck

A lot of horses like the taste of jello powder. It also has added benefits as a hoof hardener. Cherry jello powder seems to be the one that has shown the most sucess.

molasses is bad for your horses, try to avoid it as much as possible, or give small amounts.
