If you wash your face too much this is what causes oily skin. Stop washing your face too much and you won't have to worry about your makeup rubbing off.

The first poster is completely wrong. If anything, washing your face too much makes your skin dry. You most likely have oily skin to begin with. My mother is the same way and as far as I know stil hasn't found anything to help. The most you can do is not wear makeup, or just use it in the areas you need to...covering a blemish, dark undereye circles, blotchiness, but never all over your face.
When you wash your face, do it in the morning with a mild cleanser. Equate (Walmarts store brand) face wash works pretty good, one of the things my mom uses, another is Dove Unscented soap. So use the cleanser in the morning and after you're done washing, splash your face with very cold water. This will tighten your pores so the oil will be less likely to come out. At night use Dove and again rinse with cold water.
I do know there are the blotting cloths, I think Clean & Clear has them, I'm sure other companies do as well. As for how good they work, I don't know because I don't have oily skin, so no experience with any of that stuff.

Just retouch, but blot your face first with a face paper to take away the oils. If you commute, gently wipe your face with a tissue first to take of the dirt. Add more powder to your t-zone where it gets more oily. Or if you want, during your lunch brake, wash your face with an oil control facial wash then reapply your powder. Oh, don't wash your face too often because it's the oils that keeps your skin younger especially when you age.

Usually youir face gets shiny because its producing oil. Your face produces oil because it doesn't have enough moisture. Myabe try changing your cleansing routine first and use something very mild to clean your face. Then, use a good moisture cream to rehydrate your face. You may ahve to apply cream a couple times, but once your face is rehydrated, it will quit making oil and your face won't be shiny. Don't put more makeup on or quit using face cream...it'll just get worse.
