1. The normal high school band performance
2. A contest where you have people enter a drawing and you pick two people (one male and one female) to come down at halftime and try to kick a field goal from the 15 yard line....if they make it, they get a prize ---- They did this every game at my college and it was so much fun (you can get sponsors from local companies to donate prizes)
3. Call the local little girls dance and gymnastics schools and get them to come out and do a performance at halftime---thsi increases attendance too because their parents and grandparents will buy tickets to the game to come see their little ones perform
4. Call the local parks and recreation dept and have them send two little league football teams out to play a 10 minute game at halftime....again their parents will buy tickets which increases attendance

I would probably just assume he had Asperger's or some other autistic spectrum disorder, like Rain Man! But then I'm mean like that. Intelligence is great but it's not everything. I can get you ahead in life, but only if you've got a good personality to go with it. Hasn't done me any good anyway! My mum made me get an IQ test when I was in my teens and it's apparently very high. Until I was 16 I got As in school and all my exams without actually doing any work. Which turned out to be kind of a problem. I basically never learned how to work and put the effort in, so when I did my A-levels I didn't work hard enough and totally ****** it all up! (Being on antidepressants didn't help either - my tip for exams is not to take anything that makes you fall asleep!) So now I do admin work, which is not fulfilling. I'm back at college part time doing A-levels again so I can go to uni and become a radiographer. I just wish I'd made more effort at the time, it would have made things much easier (and cheaper). So have fun and develop a rounded set of interests, but do some work too!

To be honest, no. Not at all. Before i get into this here's a quick counterargument: If athletics are the cause of substandard academic performance, then why is it that most of the poorest-performing and underfunded schools are CUTTING athletic programmes and even things like PE? Firstly, atheletes get special treatment and are given preference to schools because they, unlike the geeks and nerds, are actually a source of revenue for the school. I know the school I went to had one of the best high school basketball teams in the northeast, and one of our alumni just finished his senior year at UNC as the team's 6th man. Athletic events draw huge crowds and generate TONS of revenue in ticket sales, as well as endorsements from corporations like NIKE, Reebok, etc. Secondly, yes its unfair that Athletes get better preference in admissions to élite colleges. But the same could be said for alot of other people. College admissions has never ever been strictly a meritorcacy, not now, not then, and probably not in the future. If any given top-tier university has about 1000 open spots for a freshman class, at most only about 40% of those are actually open for the "average" applicant. The remaining 60% are divided among athletes, people who give huge donations and people whose parents are legacies, with maybe annother 15% going to affirmative action cases, which in itself isnt even a guarantee of admission. Thats how come you could have 10 applicants with perfect SAT's get rejected, because they dont offer the UNIVERSITY anything; rather, they're just good students. And being a good student don't cut it in todays world. Colleges are academic institutions...but they're also Buisnesses and they gotta look at their bottom line too. Is it fair that regular folks who work hard and get excellent grades end up being f*cked over for this? No. But that's how it is.

This past year, our boosters held a raffle- $2 a ticket for a chance to win a truck. The name that was drawn had to stand at one goal line and punt the ball. Wherever it landed, he stood there and passed. Wherever that ball landed, he had to kick a field goal. If he made it, he won a two year lease on a brnad new truck. The crowd got really into it (it helped that he was egging them on) and when he made the field goal, the fans on BOTH sides went crazy!!
One word of warning about getting the gymnastics classes to come- too many mothers and grandmothers and aunts and third cousins twice removed want to stand right at the rail and take pictures of their little star. Everyone sitting from the 5th row down gets blocked. This can cause some problems, so be careful! There needs to be an area set up for family members to sit together and an area for photo taking.

Have the school's band drummers come out and play a funky beat. That always got my spirit up.
One Spring, at my community college, they had these giant sumo wrestler costumes where people could sign up and "fight" each other. The costumes were so big that when they fell over, they couldn't get up. It was hilarious.
Throw mini footballs at the crowd or rolled up T-shirts.
I thought the band and the cheerleaders always had half time covered? Hmm...
Good luck!

How about some sort of raffle or competition? For example, people throw footballs or basketballs through hoops to get a prize. You could also have a school or sport trivia contest.
As for skits, men dressed in tutus always gets a great laugh.
Or some sort of mascot related skit, like "Oh no! Our mascot is missing? Help us find him."
