Ronaldo is an overly flashy player who dribbles into the corner, juking defenders along the way but rarely developing his team's position. He's not a leader, and in general he does more to hurt his team than help it. And with the Golden Generation of Portugal retiring, Ronaldo won't have enough good players around him to have a strong team in 2010. Portugal has less of a chance to win the 2010 World Cup than Japan, Australia, or the US do.

HELL NO! There's no way in the world their about to reach the gold in South Africa 2010!!! As far as they can get is a EuroCup--but NOT a World Cup--HELL NO!!! It'll be Germany who wins the World Cup in 2010!!! No doubt about that!!! It's been written--Germany will be the champ in the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010!!!

And if Portugal was led by Cristiano Ronaldo, you'd be sure they would sink during the group stage! Cristiano Ronaldo has no leading capacity. He wouldn't lead them to the gold--he'd lead them to a sure failure!

Cristiano Ronaldo can create as many chances as he wants, but Portugals problem has always been putting them away. Who's gonna do that? No-one good enough for the international stage.

No since they are more concerned with diving and rolling around on the ground to draw penalties. I like Cristiano Ronaldo, but he needs to cut the diving out of his game. Sorry Portugal, you get points for putting the ball in the opposing team's net, not by diving on the ground. If that was the case they would get 50 points...per half!

I'm sorry if you're from Portugal, but the answer on your question is no, they don't have chance for winning the next World Cup, not with the C.Ronaldo as a leader. :-)

Of course they can, well, they'll certainly be missing Figo and Rui Costa and the other players of the Golden Generation, but I have faith...
