Have you tried to format the card? If you have and the phone still acts strange, get a different memory Card, put it in and see if the phone works with it. If it does then it’s a faulty memory card or it got damaged somehow. If your phone doesn’t work with new memory card then you got a problem with your phone. You can try pressing GREEN BUTTON(Call Button) + * + 3 AT THE SAME TIME, then power on the phone and hold all the buttons (including the power button) down until prompted to format the phone. (You might need a hand for the power button so ask your buddy to help you) Wait until the formatting is done and see if the phone works any better. If the problem still persists, you have 2 options: 1. Send it to a service center and 2 Toss it and get a new phone. Remember formatting your phone by using the technique I described above would wipe out your phone memory completely, so you will lose all data saved onto the phone’s memory.

In case your phone is tossed and you are considering buying a new one check out this place, they have good prices. A natural replacement for your 6600 would be Nokia 6682 or a N70.

Some MultiMediaCards are supplied preformatted and others require formatting. The MultiMediaCard supplied with your phone is preformatted. Consult your retailer to find out if you must format other MultiMediaCards before you can use them.
You can use File manager to check for data on a MultiMediaCard before formatting it.
To format a MultiMediaCard, select Options > Format mem. card, and select Yes to confirm. When formatting is complete, key in a name for the MultiMediaCard (up to 11 letters or numbers).
