I have two windows in my sitting room. The only thing you can see from one is my garage about 43" away from the house. I'm not very good at visualizing. Please any suggestions are good.

I have very little light between the house and garage. Only 42" of space and the only access for now to the backyard.

Instead of working inside the house try working outside.
What degree of sunlight do you get in this area?
I would try using a large rectangular planter with a lattice.
Choose a vining plant that will thrive in light conditions available in that area.
Preferably something that flowers like bougainvillea. I would not recommend vining roses as they require more sun and extra tending to keep them looking well. Ask the people at the nursery for something that requires as little pruning etc. as possible outside of food and water.
It would also look nice to place a small bench in front of the planter.
In place of a planter you could also use large pots and if they are decorative enough you don't need the bench to finish the look.
Keep it watered and well fed and as it fills in the lattice it will act a plant sogi screen.
A sogi screen is a decorative screen from Japan used for concealing less attractive aspects of a room.
You would simply be applying it outdoors.

Or you could place lattice along the garage wall and have the vining plant grow on the wall thereby beautifying the garage itself.

Why not make the garage look better? Maybe put a trellis on the side or over the top of the garage door and grow a flowering plant? I made a "window" on the side of my rather unattractive storage shed by cutting an inexpensive shutter in half and placing each half next to one of those criss cross trellises. Underneath I placed a window box where I grow ivy gernaniums training them up the trellis. I also hang wreaths on the shed with seasonal themes. I also put a little round wrought iron table with two chairs under my little window to warm it up some.

You could also hang a piece of stained glass from the window to block the view.

Try making a faux stained glass window with glass paint from a craft store. You can buy patterns, too,if you aren't artistic. Use colors that compliment the interior of your room. Lets light in but hides the view. It's not expensive.

window treatments will distract from the view of the garage if you don't want to cover the window completely. Use blinds or some kind of curtain.

Get the easy stain glass put on peel off stuff from your local craft shop or hang a really big plant in front of it or a big potted plant in front of it.

Well, if you have a big budget, you can replace the unwanted view with a stained-glass pane.

If your budget is small, you can buy vinyl that you cut-to-size and affix to your window. It can often look like frosted glass or stained-glass.

Combine the two to make one large window.
