I don't think it was racist but I think it was a damn fresh answer!!! YES OR NO BUDDY YES OR NO!!! I'm kinda surprised at the people answering this question! What is it anybody's business what she's taking the whole week off for? No one's ever took a week off? What she can't happen to go on vacation that week? Just because she's taking a week off on the same week mlk day falls doesn't mean she's taking it off for mlk day. You gotta admit that could be precieved as racist, it's like, what cauz I'm black and I'm taking the week off it's automatically for mlk day? And as for the first answer by the king, that's not true. Not all black people think everything is racist. That's a racist statement in itself. Goes to show you that sometimes people don't even notice that they're doing it. One year I had a guy I was working with ask another white guy if he was taking mlk off, they guy replied yes, and the first guy says, why would you go and do something stupid like that for? Now that's a racist statement! and he said it right on front of me! Didn't even think twice. We look out for it cuz it's out there, we don't make it up.

Not really racist... sounds like he just doesn't want to work for the whole week, it could be that it wouldn't have mattered what holiday it was. Looks like he would want the extra hours at work though.

What was the remark? I don't see it in your question. As for him asking if you celebrate MLK Day all week, just answer no, if that's the truth.

No it doesn't sound racist. Are you taking it bec it is MIK day if so It sounds to me you are taking advantage of a holiday though. Why do you need the whole week off for a man you didn't even know?! Oh let me take off the whole week bec it is Lincolns Bday!!! Give me a break.

don't be so quick to assume people are being racist just because they say something about mlk. just ask him if he's taking the whole week off for president's day?

I think it's more of a smart-*** funny comment than a racist one. Then again, I never assume people are being racist, so i could be wrong.

I don't think what he said was racist, but the first person that answered this question needs a hug and a soul food meal.

No, that doesn't sound racist. I'm Hispanic and if somebody told me if I celebrate "cinco de mayo" I would be like yeah. That wouldn't offend me.
