What are the pros and cons of these regions?

The pro of North is that North is more North than South ever can be. The pro of being South is that North can never that far south without changing its fundamental nature and becoming South.

I am from Vermont but I have lived in the South before. Here is what I think. The one good thing about the South is that the winters are not at all hard to handle and in some parts really do not exist. However in the North we do not have very many hurricanes and they never get this far inland even when we do. The cold kills the insects so our bugs are not nearly as big as Southern cockroaches. We do not have fire ants. There are no alligators and very few poisonous snakes. No scorpions. and after a storm all we have to do is plow and shovel which is much nicer than rebuilding your house. I vote for living in the North.

Pros and Cons are words you use to display feelings of an intangible idea that nobody can possibly agree upon with you for the exact same reasons. Your ideas of the North or South stem from your experiences in these regions, not from ours. Preference is created through your life experience. If you want our opinions on this, ask it in Polls and Surveys. If you want philosophy, define your terms. Pros and Cons politically? Sociologically? Environmentally? Astrologically? Astronomologically? Historically? Emotionally? DEFINE YOUR TERMS.

alot of stereotyping has arisen in respect of both regions. the more unflattering, i would say, associated with the south. as some people have observed, stereotypes do not arise for no good reason. there is usually some basis for them. while one would be exteremely foolish to believe that stereotypes accord with reality, and that gross generalizations evidence intelligent/clear thought, the pros are more abundant in the north, and especially on the two coasts. btw, CA counts as a northern state, in its entirety ;-)

although i live in walden new york now, myheartwill always bein the south. the south rules ok
