We too, are dealing with male factor infertility. The chances with only 24 thousand sperm are very slim to none...especially if there's a motility issue, too. Has your hubby had any kind of testicular trauma, torsion or a varicocele?
We had a count of 400,000 and were told that our only option was in-vitro with ICSI. Insemination isn't possible with a count this low.
In reality it takes many sperm to get pregnant. Sure, only one fertilizes but it can take hundreds to break down the protein coating on the egg so that the one sperm CAN fertilize.
There are always people who get lucky with severely low counts and I hate to be the downer here...but with only 24,000 you would have less than a 1% chance of conceiving naturally. I'm sorry.
Get your hubby checked for a Varicocele (if this is the cause, surgery may bring up the count enough for natural conception or insemination)....if not, start looking into In-Vitro Fertilization.

You should be checking withyour Dr...But I had the same problem, and my Dr said that it only takes 1 sperm to get pregnant. You need to find the most optimal ovulation time for you and have sex every other day around that time. Look into fertility drugs to increase your chances. It worked for me...I now have a 2 yr old
