dont no bout plants but animals - they realy dont talk. but they do communicate - you just have to listen. i lisen to my horse all the time - he seems to know whats best. ya just gotta know what the signs are

First of all you have to be patient. As you probably know both plants and animals love soft music and soft yellow walls. So you need to provide your plants and animals with some lovely soft music ( 24 hr/day ) and keep them a room having soft yellow walls.
You'll have to sit with the plants and animals and wait till they "appreciate" you and then talk to you. But, you'll have to sit and wait, and be ready to respond back to the plants and animals. If you're not there when they want to talk, they'll pout and even cry. Well, now you surely don't want them to cry, as they may cause a flood and your neighbors might complain when the water starts to rush from you house/room/apartment.

Buy a parrot. Try an African Grey or a Macaw. They usualy learn human speech.
;) About the plants, though... might be better to follow all of the above's advice.

They do talk to you... you're just not listening. No, really. I'm serious. Barking dogs. Talking. Learn what it means. Meowing cats. Talking. Learn what it means. Wilting plants. Yellowed edges. Talking to you. Learn what it means. Not everyone has to speak english to be considered talking.
