People tend to forget when MLS teams beat foriegn clubs. Like (this year) when D.C. United played Celtic and won 4-0. Or when the meager MLS All-Stars beat Chelsea (aka the World All-stars) 1-0 (also this year). When the formerly named Metrostars beat Bayern Munich after winning the Champion League a couple years back. These are all off the top of my head. If I researched more I could produce other results of MLS teams beating or tying the great and glorious European squads.
Of course I know Man U. is better than D.C. United and since they gave Adu and Esky away, they have lost the majority of their talent. However, D.C U. is the best team in the MLS over the last decade and they have the best coach (Peter Nowak). I would say:

with full squads in a preseason friendly tournament like they have when would be the only time they'd play each other...and maybe in the last game or semi for this preseason cup...so it would be a serious game...then man u 4-0...in non competitive games...a mls team would win...as evidenced by previous answers trying to justify dc united or whoever and any bullsh!t wins as genuine...lol...
man u 3 or 4 nil...full squads and a game which was for something...
