If you don't get enough fluids you can become dehydrated. Dehydration can cause contractions.
You don't have to drink just water. It's the amount of FLUIDS that is important. Anything with caffeine in it doesn't count.
water
juices
soups
milk
fruits that have a lot of water/juice to them - like watermelon, oranges, etc.
Gatorade
etc.

I don't think it's harming your baby. However, water can help alot when you are constipated and if you are prone to diarrhea while you are pregnant. It moves things along and if you have diarrhea it prevents dehydration. Maybe you could try something like propel fitness water or something such as that. Water is just great overall because it helps alot of your organs function better. It should not put your child in dangerbut I do not know for sure. If you have concerns speak to your doctor. Overall there shouldn't be to much to worry about. Water just helps for many reasons and if you are really concerned you may want to ask your doctor if there are any risks.

My midwife wanted me to drink around 80 oz of water per day. It helps the baby get the nutrients. Also dehydration is very dangerous for a baby and can cause you to miscarry.
To drink the water, I would recommend getting 6 Aquafina 16.9 oz bottles and put them in the freezer. You will end up having cold water to drink. I can't stand drinking lukewarm water.

Try adding lemon or some of those flavor things you can put in your bottle of water. Crystal Light has several different flavors. It's hard for me to drink that much water, too. I drink decaffeniated tea with lemon alot. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy...I'm 22 weeks pregnant. :)

I don't like drinking water either, but you have to drink lots of water! Your baby needs fluids around him/her to keep them protected. You need to drink at least 8 glasses a day. You can also drink gatorade, milk, and 100% juices that will help too.

I never drank water when I was pregnant and like you I hate water, I drank juice and once in awhile a diet soda. Maybe you can try the flavored waters those aren't so bad but not having water won't hurt baby it's what you eat is of more concern.
