I want to get tickets for a Caps game for me & my boyfriend for our anniversary. I'm looking at games in February and want to go to a game where they're playing a team that they have a good chance of winning against. Islanders, Rangers, Sharks, or Panthers? Which team is most likely to lose? I haven't followed many games this season so I don't know who sucks and who's doing well.

This goes of your reccommendations, but I would say to grab tickets to the Capitals game against the Penguins on March 27. The Caps track record against the Penguins hasn't been really good in ages, but if you want a game that the fans get into the most, and will showcase a lot of the top young talent in the league (Ovechkin and Semin for the Caps, Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Fleury for the Penguins) then it's tough to get much better than this.

I was at Pens-Caps game in December. Great time. Caps went up 4-0, then Pittsburgh came back to tie it, then won in a shootout. First time I'd ever seen a shootout live. Anyway, even though they are in different divisions now, most Caps fans call Pittsburgh their biggest rival, so that may be one for you to consider. Good luck!

I would say the Islanders or the Panthers, the Rangers have Shannahan scoring this season and the Sharks have a killer Power play (best in the league as of 1-12-07) so if your looking for a Caps win your safest bet is probably with the Panthers(Washington has won the first two meetings this season) or the Islanders (Washington lost the first meeting this season) but you never know, anybody can have a good game and end up winning it!

My advice is don't go to a game where the Capitals have a great chance to win, rather, go to a game that will be competitive and you will see some great offensive chances. As such, if you want to go sometime in February the Sharks are your best bet. Why watch a team that plays boring hockey like the Islanders or the Panthers? You and your boyfriend will end up falling asleep in the stands.

I do like the recommendation provided above to watch the Penguins in March. You will get to see 3 of the brightest young stars in the game today with Ovechkin, Crosby and Malkin. Definitely a must see.

By your standards I say Florida. They are second to last in the east, and second to last in the league for goals against. So you can probably see a high scoring game. Olie is 22-14 lifetime against them too, and Florida is 4-3-3 in their last 10 games - so still loosing more than most. Washington is battling with them for the last spot in the Southeast.

However, keep in mind they are in the same division and play each other 8 times a year. Are they therefore a big time rival in your bf mind like the NHL suggests (eye-roll) or is it just another ho-hum game between the 2 the fans are tired of and likely to be the lowest attended game of the year? The 2 teams play twice before then, so you may want to pay attention and find out. For me, I'd go see the Sharks who I think will come by your way only once every 3 years. Or LA who are last in goals against and come by your way only once every 3 years.

Go to a game where you will have fun! There is no way to call who is going to beat who. After all, the Capitals beat the Sabres this year and no one thought that would happen. Not after the hot streak the Sabres had going!

Go for the game & the fans, sing the "Hockey Song", chant along with the Horn Guy, and just have a darn good time.

There are great restaurants right across the street, too, so make a whole evening of it.

I would say the Isles game because not only are the isles not doing too well but also there are 2 players that used to play for the caps that now play for the isles (chris simon and brendan witt) so the atmosphere of the arena should be great because it could go either way with either cheers or boos for former cap favorites.

your best bet would probably be the panthers or islanders. those 2 teams are not currently in the playoff picture. the sharks is one of the better teams in the league.

panthers suck so go see them!

islanders have been struggling too..

rangers and sharks are hot.. wash would struggle with them..

but if you really wanna see a great game, go see wash against pittsburgh.. pitts is low in the standing, but they have some really hot young players that are the talk of the entire league....

No you have your priorities all wrong!

Go see a team that deserves to be watched. Jagr and the Rangers or Thorton and the Sharks.

Don't try to guess which one they will win. Who wants to go see Florida?
