I recently moved from L.A. to the midwest and cannot believe the difference in the quality of life. Sure, the sun doesn't shine everyday- but that's a good thing! Everything is easier, from raising kids (most suburban school districts are fabulous) to owning a wonderful home- all while working a normal job. But, old friends in L.A. don't believe it- they think I'm crazy for moving. What do you think?

I didn't mean move to the country- but I moved from L.A. to an averaged-size population - 700,000- so there is a wonderful zoo, and museums, restaurants, ethnic areas- the whole bit- but cost of living is much more reasonable on the whole.

We used to live in a very rural area, but we had to move to an urban one (my husband's job)

At first we were awed by the sheer amount of things to do & see. The kids liked the parks, museums, and the HUGE malls. It was also our first experience with 24 hour stores close to our home.

But, now it has become a pain. We miss the country!

I moved to a small town from a large-ish city but found it to be a small-minded,judgementle,gossipy,kind of town. Moving back to the city with all it's cultural events,museums,zoo,rock-concerts etc. was the best thing I ever did
