Google doesn't seem to be helping. I'm researching gun laws for where I live, but can't seem to find an official source of current laws. I don't have much experience looking up laws online.

i do not know where you live so cannot get your specific city or state.go to the NRA website they can help.

Try your local sheriff's departments web page or the web page of your state itself. Another source would be the state police's site,. All should have info on gun laws.
