I don't think that. I think soccer is very exciting. I especially love the loyalty and hype coming from the supporters. Sure the business isn't what it used to be, but there is still passion for the game. And a lot of players do dive and what not, but I still can't say I hate the sport. Players will do that, but there are still a lot who don't.

Americans also think that football is a mans sport. When in actualality, it's basically big, dumb guys who push themselves against other men to get an oddly shaped ball to the big, yellow polls that look like horns comming out of the ground.
I think that Americans don't really know how much work gets put in to play a soccer game. It's a game you play with your head and your feet. (no puns intended) And you actually have to run to play soccer! You get bashed just as much football players do. The problem is, many people believe that soccer is a girls sport. Not me.
If you really want a boring, corrupt sport that's full of faked injuries, try boxing.

For one thing scoring is too difficult and too rare. For another, passing is too imprecise. So much of what happens during the course of the game seems totally out of the control of the players. The skill level required to make the game function like American football, basketball, or baseball does in a controllable manner within the rules of the sport just is not humanly possible due to the design of this game.
To the average USA sports viewer who is used to watching the most popular televised sports in the US, soccer just does not measure up especially in the area of how well one person's skills can control the outcome of the game.
Soccer will never be able to compete successfully with the other sports offered to the average sports fan in the US, unless the rules are changed to allow the athelete better control over the outcome of the game. This is a central flaw in the game of soccer as I see it today.

It starts with our national team. I don't know how they select those people but I never saw a bigger collection of primadonna's. Prissing around on the field and panic stricken by the very possibility of physical contact.
Properly played I think soccer is a lot rougher than basketball. However, most partial games I've watched, really can't endure the boredom of an entire game, injuries that wouldn't bring a tear to an 8 year old's eye, require litters to remove the injured.
Its not going to change. Because in the U.S. soccer is the sport of choice for girls and boys who are terrified of the physical contact of basketball or football, and are afraid of being hit by a baseball.

Because in American Football when you get injured you try your best to stay in the game you never give up. In Soccer it takes to long to see any real kind of action. We like our contact sports like football and high scoring fast pace sports like basketball. Corrupt because the game is so big that people attempt to bribe the referee to choosing sides. Fake injuries because they try to draw in a foul and get the other player kicked off the Field. In the US soccer is more layed back compared to Europe. We don't have any pride to defend or honor to gain from that sport. It's more of a pass activity sport compared to a competitive sport to us.

Well in the U.S. Soccer is essentially a sport played in school by younger children and it is not seen as something appropriate for adult males to play. America is a culture with a hyper-macho mentality and the hands and arms are seen as the seat of human strength. A sport in which you kick a ball around that you can't touch with your hands seems too dainty and unmasculine.

Soccer is a girl's sport for wussies. Breathe on a soccer player and he turns into a puddle of tears. When one scores they all kiss each other. It is the sport of homosexuals.
