Between 18-20 weeks are the best weeks to find out because you can get a good picture of the baby and the organs are well formed enough. Though they aren't always correct but 99 % of the time they are.

You can actually see it in the ultrasound between 18-20 weeks. Although the sex is determined a few weeks before but you can't see it.

24 weeks with my first!

I think by 12 weeks its developed but you cant tell...Most women dont get their ultrasound until about 20 weeks to determine the sex of the baby....a good clue of what it is is the heartbeat...130s its a boy and around 160s its a girl

With my two children they could tell at 16 weeks. But you usually have to wait until 20 wks before ins. co. and some dr. will do the first ultrasound. I was high risk so they were monitoring a lot.

usually after 20 weeks, and even still it's not always accurate

I know of some people that couldn't even tell because of the angle of the baby

I also have heard stories of babies coming out opposite of what the parents were told they were having.

It's because of this, apparently some places won't even tell you nowadays because they are affraid of law suits. As ridiculous as this sounds. My friend had a baby last February and she told me they don't even tell you anymore. Of course if you are very close with your doctor they will probably tell you.

Actually it is the ultrasound tech who will be doing the scan and giving you the sex of the baby.

I was 18 weeks when I found out we were having a boy.

Congratulations!

18 to 20 weeks. The organs aren't really formed before then.
