Your ABS and your Brakes are 2 Systems that have to work together... You need to have All your brakes checked 1st... front and rear. Locking up means there is a part failure. The Fluid Dirty over heated? Then ABS and Master cylinder checked.
If the ABS system has a pressure problem the computer turns it off and you have regular Brakes. Once you have fixed the Brakes real problem then you have the codes reset.
Read more about how the ABS system works for your car.
Good Luck...

Its called reflashing the computer and no you can not do it.Question for you does the car seem to sit down in the back end when you brake??? If so have your rear brakes serviced and adjusted. These car were bad for the rear brakes going out of adjustment and locking up.Sounds like your problem.I'd try that before the reflash.Good luck hope I helped .

this may sound wierd but put it in reverse and drive about 2 feet then slam on the breaks. this will sometimes un-adjust the back brakes do it a few times and if you still have a problem bleed brakes. my abs started doing that after it snowed so i think they could just b hung up

One thing you could also check to see if the rear brake shoes are contaminated with brake fluid from leaking wheel cylinders.
