I was impressed by his boldness, honesty and no nonsense way of expressing his veiws.His approach was different from other leading hopefuls.

Well, if McCain is the frontrunner, Hagel did a good job of making their differences clear. Whether "Bush sucks ***" is going to be a winning strategy in the primaries remains to be seen. Republicans, for some unknown reason, still are supportive of the Iraq fiasco in large numbers.

However, I don't think ANY Republican has a very good shot at taking the White House. They've repeatedly proven incompetent in both the legislative and executive branches the last 6 years....

Well, he would be like the 1,000th person entering the 08 race in 2007!

But I sure hope not. Hagel does more criticizing than actually coming up with ideas and implementing them.

It probably helped him, as more people are moderate than ever, and are just looking to vote for people who make sense. That is why the Dems got the landslide in the past elections. I don't think people know what the answer is, but they know the current system is not working.
