Have any of you women out there had so many complications that you don't think you will have a healthy baby? I have a history of preeclampsia, pre term labor, and now I have a rash and itching that wont go away. Oh and with my last baby my water broke at 24 weeks. Luckily it sealed itself and I had her at 38. I just want to hear good stories of babies that made it. I am really sad right now. I hope my baby will be alright but I am only 21 weeks and I don't know. Thanks

I had preeclampsia with my first born. High blood pressure and I was a swollen mess..anyways..because of all this, I had to be induced 7 weeks early and I was scared because my daughter at the time was only 3 lbs..she fit in the palm of my hand. They kept her in the hospital for 2 weeks and today she is 4 years old and probably one of the most intelligent kids of her class..she's active in every sport...a picky eater but i can get over that..So, dont give up..Keep your spirits high.

I was 38 when I had my Last baby. I had been fully menopausal for 2.5 years. The doctors could only say that falling in love does weird thing to your hormones. Because of my age and having no periods for sooo long, the doctors kept telling me that I should abort the pregnancy. I refused. They told me that the risk of carrying to term was slim, and the risk of having a healthy baby was even slimmer. They wanted to know how I would cope if I had a child with down syndrome. I was so distressed that I stopped going to the doctor until I could feel that it was very close to my time. I had my beautiful, healthy, perfect in every way baby girl two days later. She turned four the other day. And I thank god every day for giving me the strength to hold on through the fear.

i have had miscarriages (2) then i had pre-term labor with my son who was born at 30 weeks he weighed 3 pounds 9 oz. now he is 17 months and 30 pounds, so he really caught up! LOL. with this pregnancy i am 14 weeks i am going in next week to have my cervix stitched so i wont (hopefully) go into labor early and i also have placenta previa which means that my placenta is completely covering my cervix, that complicates the surgery and my giving birth naturally. but i am positive that my doctor is going to take good care of me and do everything to make sure i have a healthy baby, and i bet your doctor is doing the same. you are 21 weeks, your doing great just try not to stress over these kinds of things and LISTEN to everything your doctor tells you and i PROMISE you will have a very healthy baby! i am nervous to, but i like to think positive and i would love it if you did the same. good luck sweety i hope everything works out!

The rash and itching that you are experiencing is probably what they call PUPPP and it won't bother the baby but rather being extremely bothersome to you.

Are you under doctor care? With your history I would think that they are watching you extra close. Also, one thing to focus on is if you haven't had any issues this far that is a very positive sign! Every pregnancy is different, just because you had something the last time doesn't necessarily mean it will happen again.

With my twins I had preeclamsia at 29 weeks. I had to go on complete bedrest then until I was 33 weeks and they couldn't control it anymore. My babies were only 3 # 1/2 oz, and 3 # 13 oz. But you couldn't tell today. They caught up and then some. And they are soooo smart.
