I hate when my boss or someone says, "I have something we have to talk about Later!" Why torment a person? It could be nothing just a trigger response to a past trauma???

Or, wait until your father gets home, or you just wait..., or you want to fight, or hey baby, come here and give daddy a kiss....

It also shows that your boos is an inconsiderate bafoon. I'm a boss and I know that if I said that, my employees would freak out.

Yes, that can be really unsettling. Maybe it's something important, or it will have a big impact on you, but you won't know until later...so you worry about it until then. Very distracting!

I think your reaction is natural. One thing you could do is say, "You know, I have time to talk about it right now. Is this a good time for you?"

If that doesn't work, just exercise patience. Truly there are many much worse things that can happen to you at work or in life. Just tell yourself the truth - "It could be something good, or it could be something bad, or in between...I won't know either way until later." Then refocus on something productive. It will make the time go by more quickly and with a lot less worry.

You can do this!

What are you talking about? IF you are saying it caused an emotional response, you need to think practically.
