It depends on your definition of Birthplace. You could argue that hip hop truly started in Africa where music and rhythm was a part of culture. However, for modern hip hop, I would go with New York City. That's where GrandMaster Flash, Run DMC, and LL Cool J were from... and to me, they are the ones who brought rap/hiphop mainstream.

where ever it is.. should have been prevented.. maybe an insurgence or something or a hostile take over from the association of people with taste in music... maybe fly a few missions over head and blast the living daylights out of them... then grab whoever invented it and do a televised execution.
