Webroot's Windows Washer is more of a privacy software program than a security program. As you surf the Internet, cookies, temporary internet files and download files are saved on to your computer. In addition, your web browser keeps a history of websites visited. If you use a share computer or someone other than yourself has access to your computer, you might not want this information freely available. That is where Windows Washer steps in. It deletes these files and protect your privacy. You can adjust settings in Windows Washer to only delete the files you want to delete while leaving other vital files alone.

Windows Washer can delete more than files saved on your web browser. It can delete Windows logs, Run history, most recently used (MRU) documents and many other temporary files belonging to third party software (e.g. Winzip).

Window washer is a software to remove junk files in the system which are no longer needed right, if u remove such files system becomes clean. There is a freeware alernative for that Cclearner from http://www.ccleaner.com, try that also.

Most softwares like that just do what your PC is quite capable of doing itself; you're just unaware of it. If you're talking about:

Then just use the instructions here for virtually the same results:

If you're talking about spyware, than the preferred is:
