I believe its called a "Windfall Profits" tax.... this cannot be "added" to the cost of gas, or else the taxes keep going up.
Whats the matter, do you really believe Big Oil NEEDS 50 billion dollars a year? Exxon made about 14 billion in one quarter, this is ridiculous and at the time, calls were a Windfall Profits tax to be levied for profiteering. Of course, the REPUBLICAN controlled Congress said no. Now we have a Democratic Congress and Big Oil has shills such as you trying to convince us theyre not making that money because theyve overpriced their product.

The oil companies made record profits the same year they received record tax breaks. Logic says that if you raise their taxes a little (by taking aways tax breaks) their profits will reduce a little, with the price staying the same.

Your right of course. Though the oil companies won't call it "passing the buck". It will be "..additional costs due to the increased charge on base oil cost" or some such thing.
I wonder what the Libs are going to due when it cost 'em 600 bucks to fill up their SUVs and they have to pay 500 a month to heat their houses.
Additional: I drive an SUV Bricketybrac? Man thanks for telling me, hmm you wouldn't happen to know where I parked it or the keys are would you?

It's obviously not going to lower the prices. And tell me, how much was gas BEFORE Bush invaded Iraq? Yeah, that's what I thought...you're too dim yourself to remember that it was much cheaper than it is today...

honestly, the only solution is to start using alternative fuel sources. I think democrats are afraid to use this, the only real solution, because they're afraid of losing all election funds... the little money they get compared to the republican party from corporations is something they see as vital to their survival. Maybe they'd be better off without it.

People are dying in Iraq because of Bush's choices. Quit crying about the price of gas. I would pay $5.00 a gallon if it meant no more of our soldiers would be killed.
Uh, gas was about a dollar a gallon when Bush became president.
