St. Augustine is such an amazing place to visit. I didn't stay in a hotel while there - we have family in Jacksonvillem which isn't too far away. But I can recommend some activities!
Visit The Castillo De San Marcus National Monument - see one of the first forts in the United States!
Visit Anastasia Island - beautiful beaches!
Visit Florida's 1st lighthouse!

Some popular places to visit in St. Augustine are Fort Castillo de San Marcos and the "Ripley's Believe It or Not" museum. The city itself was the first European settlement in the United States.
I myself have never stayed at an oceanfront hotel in St. Augustine, but the source provided has some available options. The Beacher's Lodge is one that I'd recommend.
