Urm, I suppose it depends on how you want to bring up your kids...
Some would use spanking, some will threaten the kids, though the so-called children 'expert' that has been conducting research throughtout the years suggest you not to use theatening as the kids may turn out bad etc.etc.
Basically, European or caucasians countries don't agree with spaking.
On the other hand, Asian countries are very much approval with spanking..
All things said, no matter how people tells to what you are suppose to do, you should do what you think is right... People that don't have kids simply have too much to comment on them, how to raise them etc.etc.
Ignoring may be a good idea, or trying to make them understand would be one... Maybe you should give them a situation where you don't get your way, and how you have to put up with it...

When I go shopping at the grocery store, I always have her strapped into the cart, so she's not running amok down the isles. If she starts screaming for somthing, I will tell her that I'm going to leave her there. And I will start to walk away from the cart. She starts screaming louder, but then stops when I come back. Kind of cruel, but you can't let embarassment stop you from being a parent. I've gotten past the point of getting embarrassed when my kid acts up.

No I let them have their tantrum. As a parent, you start to not care what others around you are thinking about the situation.

No, I would not give in. I would probably spank their butt. I know now days you can get in trouble for spanking your child, it is called child abuse, but I would still spank their butts and show them that temper tantrums do not go in my book.♥♫

When My son and daughter were small they never pulled that crap. They did not act that way. They may have once but they learned from the experience.

great question...i'm waiting for that day to happen to me. So far it hasn't (but my kid is only 1!)
I would like to say that I will refuse it to them so they learn from it, but I'm afraid I might cave and give it to them anyway!

I never give in, plus he knows better not to test me. If you don't give in, they will eventually get it and the people around you will get over it.
