What does the mucus plug look like? I had a large amount of thick stringy stuff that looked like egg whites come out throught out the day yesterday and some this morning. Im Due Monday. Is this the plug or possibly some remaining semen from two nights ago. I can't imagine that though because that would be alot of semen! Any Ideas?

It is probably some or all of your plug. Espeically if when you have a bowel movement you notice more of the mucous coming out...most women pass the plug over a day or two...some just pass tiny bits at a time. With number one mine was white and stringy...with the others it did have a blood tinge to it. It is a good step towards labor...but I lost mine about 2 weeks before I went into labor each time (ended up being past due date all 3 times)

i'm 40+ weeks and two weeks ago lost my mucous plug. i lost a little at a time. it was whitish/clear with brown blood in it. its unlikely to be the semen from having sex two nights ago. everyone told me when i lost my plug i'd go into labor soon but no luck yet. and i'm miserable. good luck to you. also, i read another comment that said you shouldn't have sex since there was nothing protecting the baby. not true. i asked my dr. at my appt. yesterday. your cervix is always producing mucous... just not a plug. anyway she said as long as your water hasn't broke and mine hasn't sex can be a good thing.

The musuc plug looks like snot with maybe a little blood in it. So that would make it kinda green or yellow, but not usually white. It looks like a loogy (not sure how to spell that). It can come out all at once or over a few days. :)

My plug was brownish pink with some blood. I've never heard of it being white, though I guess it is possible.

Most likely your plug! If you get a faint pink or brown color to it, it means it's almost all out. That's called a bloody show. Congrats!

Gross! To much information !Girl you are about to have that baby soon maybe tonight or tomorrow.I had six children and my plug came and i had them either that night or a day later.

Sounds to me like the plug. You don't always have blood show. Labor wl be coming soon! YAY! Oh yeah btw no more sex now. Nothings protectin the baby from infection now. But hey you ca always get oral as long as he doesn't pu his tounge in there.

It's likely your mucous plug, but don't rush to the hospital, birth can still be a couple of weeks away.

it;s most likely your plug however if this is your first baby, maybe wait a few days before heading to the hospital...
