They are the closest thing Americans have to royalty. They entertain us. Because people want to live other people's lives.

Cause they are talented and are doing things that many wished they good be doing such as singing , having tons of fans, and the money.

I think people like to feel important by association sometimes, name dropping, social climbing, if somebody doesn't feel like much themselves, they like famous people more.
I'm not impressed by fame, only if they did something good.
