Having some really bad family problems and probably pregnant... I live in Ohio and Ohio is pretty much ridiculous when it comes to this getting married thing. Where can we go to get married to ensure the rights of our child and be together without consent? Please answer if you know details... :(

There's very good reason why you can't marry without parents consent. Why in the world would you two run away and add more problems to your lives instead of staying in school to get that education so you two can really better your selves? Now you will have the hardest time trying to play house and with a child it won't be long before you'll wish you were back home being a teenager .

Being pregnant and having bad family problems is not a good reason to get married. Odds are and please dont take this wrong but if that is why you chose to get married plus only being 17 I highly doubt it will last. Secondly most states even those that dont require adult consent require you to be a resident of the state execpt Vegas but I dont think they allow 17yr olds to marry without adult consent either, not sure though

the age in every state is 18 to get married without the parents consent. that includes Utah. if you are pregnant and want to get married you can go to court and become an emancipated minor. meaning you essentially get granted over 18 status due to being pregnant. then you can get married. good luck

You would do better to wait until you are 18! By then you will know that you aren't getting married just to get away from home. Do you really want to jump from the frying pan into the fire? Make sure the father's name is on the baby's birth certificate and that he is prepared to pay child support until you marry. Waiting and preparing will show good faith on both your parts.

Check the laws in the states around you. I know you can get married in Utah at 14 or so. So see what other states near you have to say about this.
